Initially this system was developed to read electricity meters in remote location, which do not have GSM coverage. The system has now been developed to an extent where it offers the same capabilities as GSM at the same cost.

UtilityEye Environmental

Under the terms of EU Directive 97/11/EC amending Directive 85/337/EEC on assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment, a wide range of projects must carry out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) so that potentially significant adverse impacts are identified.

UtilityEye, a monitoring and control solution, can be used to carry out baseline assessments and be incorporated into a strategy to help mitigate potential impacts. For example, should a strategy seek to intercept wastes before they enter the environment, UtilityEye can monitor and control them so that acceptable standards are not exceeded.
